Insurance and safety

Every passenger is insured, and every flight depends on the weather and the pilot's decision.

Insurance is included

Every passenger on our flights is covered by insurance. There's nothing extra to buy and nothing to arrange. This is one of the reasons we ask for the full name of every passenger when you book: each person must be registered before the flight.

For details of the cover, ask us on WhatsApp.

How we keep flights safe

  • Weather checks every morning. Balloons only fly in calm conditions. The pilot checks wind and weather before every flight.
  • The pilot decides. If conditions aren't safe, the flight doesn't go ahead, even at the last minute.
  • Safety briefing. Before take-off, the pilot explains how to get in and out of the basket and how to stand during landing.
  • Landing position. When the pilot asks, hold the handles, bend your knees and keep your back against the basket wall.

Who should not fly

Ballooning is gentle, but landings can be bumpy. We don't recommend flying if you are pregnant, have had recent surgery, or have serious heart, back or joint problems. If you're unsure, ask your doctor and tell us before booking.

Children

Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Tell us their ages in the booking form so we can confirm everything with you.

If the flight is cancelled

If the weather stops the flight, we offer you another date or a refund. See our booking & cancellation policy.
